Migraines
Other therapies . Migraines

A headache is not a disease, is a symptom, which is not life-threatening for the patients life, but it disturbs the everyday life and the normal functioning of a human being.

Headaches have a wide variety of causes: tensional headaches, migraines, backaches, sinusitis, teeth, tiredness, elevated body temperature, elevated blood pressure, anemia etc.

A headache is a condition of constant pressure and pain in the head, tension in the temples, front, face and neck, which can upgrade into an unbearable pain that can persist within more hours. If the headaches are repetitive and persist from 2 to 72 hours, and are accompanied by symptoms like nausea, tiredness, sensitivity to sound and light, we can presume that we have migraines. It means that the headache reflects another condition or even illness. We need to be aware of the fact that a headache can reveal severe health conditions and we should not hesitate to consult our healthcare provider.

When we discover the headache causes, it is easy to cure them. When the headaches are repetitive and we cant discover the causes we normally apply an anti-pain therapy.
As an anti-pain therapy we intend the use of primary analgesics like paracetamol, which provokes less side effects as drugs like NSAIR (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). We can buy in a drugstore or pharmacy a lot of different types of primary analgesics. At a long-term use they can have various side effects as digestive disorders, kidney problems, blood clotting problems and also problems with the circulatory system.
Also stronger painkillers like coxids, opioids, antidepressants and anticonvulsives are available.

Unfortunately this types of drugs do not offer a long-term solution, for more then 8% man and 15% women, which are absent from work for headaches more then 3 days a year, this kind of treatment means an additional poisoning for their organism.

In our Medical centre we practice acupuncture therapies and we successfully cure headaches and migraines. The therapy proceeds in intervals starting from once every 15 days to twice a week, it depends on the individual symptoms. The physician determines the number of the therapies. The procedure is simple, quick, aseptic and without side effects.
